TimeUnderTension collects minimal information necessary for app functionality and subscription management:

Subscription Management Data (via RevenueCat)

• Anonymous User Identifier: A random ID to manage your subscription status (not linked to personal identity)
• Purchase Information: Subscription status, purchase dates, and product SKUs
• Device Information: iOS version, app version, and device type (for compatibility and support)
• Receipt Validation Data: Encrypted App Store receipt data for subscription verification

Information We Do NOT Collect

We maintain strict privacy standards and do not collect:

• Personal Information: No names, email addresses, phone numbers, or contact information
• Workout Data: Your exercise routines, timing patterns, and fitness data remain on your device
• Location Data: We do not access or track your location
• Usage Analytics: No tracking of how you use the app or behavioral data
• Audio/Video: No recording or access to microphone or camera
• Contacts: No access to your address book or social connections
• Advertising Data: No advertising IDs or marketing profiles
• Biometric Data: No health data, heart rate, or fitness metrics

Data Storage and Processing

Local Data Storage

All data generated by the app is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This includes:

• Exercise definitions and custom workouts
• Tempo patterns and timing configurations
• Training session history (if you choose to track it)
• App preferences and settings

iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you enable iCloud sync in your device settings, your workout data may be synchronized across your Apple devices through Apple's iCloud service. This data:

• Is encrypted by Apple using end-to-end encryption
• Is not accessible to TimeUnderTension developers
• Follows Apple's iCloud Privacy Policy
• Can be disabled at any time in iOS Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud

Data Retention

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over retention:

• Data persists until you delete the app or manually clear it
• No server-side data storage or retention policies apply
• Uninstalling the app permanently removes all local data

App Permissions

Required Permissions

• Audio: To play timing cues and voice coaching (sounds are generated locally)
• Haptics: To provide vibration feedback during exercises

Optional Permissions

• Notifications: Only local notifications for workout reminders (no push notifications or external services)
• Background Audio: To continue timer operation when app is backgrounded

All permissions can be managed in iOS Settings > TimeUnderTension. The app will function with reduced capabilities if certain permissions are denied.

Apple App Store

In-App Purchases

TimeUnderTension offers optional premium features through Apple's In-App Purchase system:

• Purchase processing is handled entirely by Apple
• We do not have access to your payment information
• Purchase receipts are validated locally on your device
• No subscription or payment data is transmitted to our servers

App Store Analytics

Apple may collect anonymous analytics about app downloads and usage through the App Store. This data:

• Is controlled by Apple's Privacy Policy
• Cannot be linked to individual users by TimeUnderTension
• Is used only for aggregate statistics (e.g., download counts)
• Can be disabled in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements

Third-Party Services

TimeUnderTension integrates with one trusted third-party service for subscription management:

RevenueCat (Subscription Management)

Purpose: RevenueCat manages premium subscriptions and validates App Store purchases.

Data Shared:

• Anonymous user identifier (random UUID, not personal)
• App Store receipt data (encrypted by Apple)
• Subscription status and purchase information
• Device type and iOS version (for compatibility)

Data Security: RevenueCat is SOC 2 Type 2 certified and GDPR compliant. They do not sell data to advertisers.

No Advertising

The app is completely ad-free and does not work with any advertising networks or data brokers.

No Social Features

The app does not include social sharing, community features, or connections to social media platforms.

No Analytics

We do not use third-party analytics services like Google Analytics, Firebase, or similar platforms.

Children's Privacy (COPPA)

TimeUnderTension is suitable for users of all ages with proper supervision:

• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13
• Only anonymous subscription data is collected (no personal identifiers)
• In-app purchases require parental approval through iOS Family Sharing or parental controls
• Parents can manage subscription access through iOS Screen Time and purchase restrictions
• The app can be safely used by minors under parental guidance for exercise therapy

For Parents: If you discover that your child has made unauthorized purchases, contact Apple Support for refunds. You can prevent future purchases using iOS Restrictions in Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > iTunes & App Store Purchases.

International Privacy Laws

GDPR Compliance (European Union)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• Legal Basis: Subscription data processing is based on contract performance (Article 6(1)(b))
• Data Minimization: Only essential data for subscription management is collected

• Regular security updates through App Store
• No server-side components to maintain or secure

Data Rights and Control

Your Data Rights

Since all data remains on your device, you have complete control:

• Access: All your data is accessible within the app interface
• Deletion: Delete individual workouts or clear all data through the app settings
• Portability: Export workout data (if feature is available) or manually recreate in other apps
• Correction: Edit any workout, exercise, or preference data directly in the app

Complete Data Removal

To completely remove all TimeUnderTension data:

1. Delete the app from your device
2. If iCloud sync was enabled, disable it in iOS Settings before deletion
3. Clear any iCloud backups containing the app data (optional)

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal compliance. When we make changes:
